Why do I need the TiviMate Companion app to unlock Premium?

TiviMate Premium is sold as an in-app purchase through Google Play. Amazon's Firestick runs Fire OS, which does not include Google Play by default, making it impossible to buy TiviMate Premium directly on the Firestick. The TiviMate Companion app (available on Google Play for Android phones and tablets) processes the payment and links the premium licence to a TiviMate account, which your Firestick app then authenticates against.

How much does TiviMate Premium cost in the UK?

TiviMate Premium costs approximately £4.49 for a lifetime licence (one-off payment via Google Play) or is available as a yearly subscription at around £3.49/year. The licence unlocks multiple device support, Multi-View (watch up to 4 channels simultaneously), TiviMate recording functionality, and advanced EPG customisation. The Companion app itself is free on Google Play — only the Premium unlock costs money.

Can I use TiviMate Companion without an Android phone?

If you only have an iPhone, you can use the BlueStacks Android emulator on a Windows PC or Mac to run the TiviMate Companion app, complete the Google Play purchase, and link the Premium licence to your account. The process takes approximately 15 minutes but the licence remains permanently active. Once linked, open TiviMate on your Firestick, go to Settings > Unlock Premium, and sign in with your Companion app credentials.

The "TiviMate" Hurdle

What You Need

A Google account with a payment method attached.

Your TiviMate username and password.

The Process

Step 1: Download "TiviMate Companion" from the Google Play Store on your phone.

Step 2: Open it and create an account.

Step 3: Choose "Unlock Premium" and pay the one-off or yearly fee.

Step 4: Now, go to your Firestick, open TiviMate, go to Settings > Unlock Premium, and login with the account you just created.

Don't Have an Android?

If you're an iPhone user, this is a bit annoying. You can either use a friend's Android phone or install an "Android Emulator" on your PC (like BlueStacks) to run the Companion app. It's a 10-minute job but it stays unlocked forever.

Why do it?

It unlocks Multi-View, Recording, and a much better UI. It's worth the 10-minute hassle.
