TiviMate No EPG Guide? How to Fix It in 2 Minutes (2026)

Why TiviMate EPG Cache Gets Corrupted

Where Did the Channels Go?

A great IPTV experience relies on a great EPG (Electronic Program Guide). Without it, you're just clicking random channel names. If your TiviMate guide is saying "No Information," here is how to fix it.

The Common Clog

Smartphone screen displaying TiviMate app with IPTV settings, highlighting options for fixing 'no EPG data' issues in IPTV services.

Apps like TiviMate save the guide data to your device's memory. Over time, this file can get corrupted or too large, causing the app to just stop loading it.

The Solution

  1. Clear App Cache: Go to your Firestick Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > TiviMate > Clear Cache. (Do NOT click Clear Data or you'll lose your login!).
  2. Update EPG Sources: In TiviMate, go to Settings > EPG > EPG Sources. Click on the IPTV UK Elite source and select "Update EPG".
  3. Check Your Clock: This sounds ridiculous, but if your Firestick time is wrong, the EPG won't display because the "times" don't match. Set it to automatic!

Why Quality Matters

Some cheap providers only update their EPG once a week. At IPTV UK Elite, we update every few hours to ensure Boxing PPVs and F1 races show up correctly in your guide.

Switch to a provider that values your time.

How EPG Works in TiviMate

TiviMate's Electronic Programme Guide works by downloading an external data file and matching each programme entry to a channel in your playlist:

  1. TiviMate downloads your EPG data file (in XMLTV format) from the URL you provided during setup.
  2. It reads each channel's ID in the XMLTV file.
  3. It matches those IDs against the channel IDs in your M3U playlist.
  4. Where there is a match, programme information appears in the guide.
  5. Where there is no match, the channel shows "No EPG Data."

If many channels show no EPG data, the issue is usually either a missing EPG URL, or the XMLTV channel IDs not matching your M3U channel IDs.

How to Manually Enter an EPG URL in TiviMate

If your EPG URL was not set up during initial playlist loading, or if you need to update it:

  1. Open TiviMate > Settings > Playlists > select your playlist > Edit.
  2. Find the field labelled EPG URL or XMLTV URL.
  3. Enter your EPG URL — this is provided by your IPTV provider alongside your M3U or Xtream Codes details.
  4. Tap Save.
  5. Return to the main screen and wait 2–3 minutes for TiviMate to download and process the EPG data.

If you are an IPTV UK Elite subscriber and do not have your EPG URL, contact us on WhatsApp and we will provide it immediately.

Alternative for Xtream Codes users: If you set up TiviMate via Xtream Codes (username/password), EPG is often embedded in the Xtream API automatically. In the playlist edit screen, look for "Load EPG from Xtream" and enable it.

Setting Up EPG Refresh Schedules

EPG data expires and needs refreshing to stay accurate:

  1. TiviMate > Settings > EPG > Auto Update.
  2. Enable Auto Update and set the update time — 3:00am daily is ideal.
  3. Set EPG Days to Load to 7 for a full week of guide data.

If your guide consistently shows blank slots, go to Settings > EPG > Update Now to force an immediate refresh.

XMLTV Format: A Brief Explanation

XMLTV is the standard file format for TV guide data. An XMLTV file contains:

  • Channel definitions: List all channels with their unique IDs (e.g., BBC1.uk, SkySports1.uk)
  • Programme entries: Each entry has a channel ID, start time, stop time, title, and description

The channel ID in the XMLTV file must exactly match the `tvg-id` attribute in your M3U playlist. If they do not match, TiviMate cannot link the programme data to the channel.

This is why channels from different providers sometimes show no EPG even when an EPG URL is correctly configured — the channel IDs do not align between the M3U and the XMLTV.

Alternative EPG Sources for UK Channels

If your provider's EPG URL is not working, these are reliable fallback sources:

  • Rytec XMLTV UK: Community-maintained, excellent coverage of UK Free-to-Air and Sky channels
  • EPGSHARE01: A popular UK IPTV community EPG source with regular updates

However, third-party EPG sources may not perfectly match your provider's channel IDs. For IPTV UK Elite subscribers, our proprietary EPG URL is pre-matched to our channel IDs and is always the recommended option. Contact support for your EPG URL if you are missing it.
