The "Child Safety" Trap

Major UK internet providers (BT, Virgin, Sky, TalkTalk) love to turn on "Web Safety" filters by default. They say it's to protect kids, but it often aggressively blocks or slows down IPTV traffic.

If your stream works fine until 8pm and then starts buffering, this is almost certainly the cause.

The Fix: Turn it OFF.

Login to My BT > Your Security Settings > BT Web Protect > Switch it OFF.

Virgin Media Customers

Login to your account > My Apps > Web Safe > Turn Virus Safe and Child Safe to OFF.

Sky Customers

Login to Sky.com > Broadband Shield > Set to Disabled.

What if that doesn't work?
